According to the latest study on the impact of exercise on mortality, running 5 minutes a day significantly reduces the risk of death. The obtained results show that even short, but intense exercise, can have a major stake in improving human health.

In the last few years experts recommend moderate exercise (such as brisk walking). They have proven 30 minutes of moderate exercise, few days a week, is equal to 15 minutes of intense daily training. The intensive exercise reduces the risk of diseases and increases lifespan.

For the new study published in The Journal of the American College of Cardiology, researchers from Universities of Iowa and South Carolina made huge database in the Cooper Clinic in Dallas. These years they collected information for thousands men and women who performed regular control in the clinic. After every fitness training they filled out questionnaires about their exercise habits, including whether, how often and how fast they ran.

From this database researchers had records of the health of 55,137 men and women, aged between 18 and 70 years, who visited the clinic at least 15 years before the start of this study. In this group 24% are runners, whose typical length and running speed varied greatly. When they compared the results of mortality, they concluded that in the past 15 or more years nearly 3500 people died – most from heart disease.

Running 5 Minutes a Day - SunsetHowever, runners were less susceptible to mortality from non-runners. The risk of death among runners from any cause was 30% lower than that of non-runners and the risk of death from heart disease – 45% lower. Comparison of overweight and smoking substantiate this claim (although it is a rare occurrence among runners).

Running 5 Minutes A Day Reduces The Risk of Death

Runners get extra 3 to 5 years of life, compared with those who never ran. Most likely, people enjoy the benefits of running no matter how long they run. These include those who ran 150 minutes a week, those who run 10-15 minutes a day, or walk for 10 minutes.

This finding seems very motivating because most people can fit 10 minutes of running а day, no matter how busy they are. However, the benefits of running on the mortality are remarkable and encouraging.

Studies have shown that running has great benefits and directly affect the risk of premature death. Running is the key to improving longevity.

People who have or have had health problems should consult a doctor before they start the program. Experts recommend to add a little physical activity before they start running, like five minutes of jumping rope, cycling and other similar activities. New Massive Study Says - Milk Does Not Do Good To Your Body

A number of studies in the past few years have proved that the milk and its contents, as well as the health benefits, which presumably it provides, are not entirely true.

According to the research made by the Uppsala University in Sweden, it was proved that the milk can actually damage the bones and that it can lead to a higher percentage of premature deaths. Therefore, what we believe that it is healthy, actually it is not.

Also relating to this research, a study was conducted by the British Medical Journal by which the relation between the actual consumption of milk and the mortality and bone fractures in people was determined. In three different counties in Sweden, people were divided into two groups: group of men (45,339) at ages between 45-79 years and a group of women at ages between 39-74 years. They were all provided with questionnaires for food consumption, which determined the relation between the milk consumption and bone fractures and premature deaths in people.

This study has proved that the higher the consumption of milk, both at men and women, the higher the relation to the increased percentage of premature deaths and bone fractures is, especially in women. However, the results should be taken with caution as the study was mainly made for observational purposes.

Other Studies Also Suggests That Milk Is Not Good For Your Body

According to the Harvard pediatrician David Ludwig and to the Journal of the American Medical Association Pediatrics, it was emphasized that the numbers of bone fractures were significantly lower in those countries where the consumption of milk is lower. It was even proved that the consumption of dairy products increases the possibility of bone fractures up to 50% (1).

It also increases the risk of prostate cancer in men between 30-50% (2).

It was mentioned that the calcium (the main ingredient in milk) (3) is not a bone protector, as it is widely assumed it is. But, on the contrary, the Vitamin D is the ingredient that strengthens the bones and efficiently lowers the risk of bone fractures (4).

Milk Does Not Do Good To Your BodyIt is an interesting fact that between 65-75% of the world population has problems with lactose digestion, especially the elderly people (5) and (6). This lactose intolerance is actually the incapability of the organism to absorb the sugar from the milk and dairy products. The lactose consists of an enzyme called lactase, which is produced from the cells of the lining of the small intestine.

The intolerance is understandable, because the milk we are consuming is mainly a cow milk, and not natural human milk, which raised us. The function of the lactase is to digest the lactose in the milk, and the people have adapted to consuming fermented milk and dairy products. The human genes have adapted, but still, many people are lactose intolerant. It is estimated that about 65-75% of the people worldwide cannot digest the lactose properly.

Milk and Dairy Are Not the Only Source of Calcium

Many types of food are healthy and rich source of calcium. That list of non-dairy, vegan/vegetarian sources of calcium is very long. Some of them are:
